Emergency Nannies

Childcare Service has regional emergency pools which enable nannies to be placed quickly and easily in an emergency. This service is available to all employees of our member companies and is valued by staff and employers alike.

What do we understand by emergency or short-term care placements?

These are placements with families that last a maximum of two weeks, for example because

• the child that needs care is ill and cannot go to their daycare centre
• care is required in exceptional circumstances
• the regular carer cannot look after the child(ren) because of their own illness or for other reasons.

Insurance: As an emergency nanny, you are registered as on call under a contract with us, so that your social security contributions (AHV, ALV, UHV etc.) can be handled properly.

Fees: For parents, each hour of care costs CHF 35 gross. From this, the nanny earns CHF 30 gross per hour. The necessary paperwork is all prepared and the carer is insured via Childcare Zurich.
